About me
I love working with my hands — fiddling, tinkering, experimenting.
I take a lot of pleasure in what is regarded as trash, in the small stories waiting to be continued.
I get a little thrill when I can make something out of nothing — it’s cheerful, playful work. I see human ingenuity, and unexpected beauty in waste. I want to honor that, giving value to what already exists. My work reflects on resourcefulness, and care for the overlooked.
A piece feels successful to me when a few simple conditions are met:
It needs to bring me joy making it. It must have a name. And it needs to stay upright — which is less obvious than it sounds.
A big shout-out to the place where I have my studio, De Blikfabriek in Hoboken. What an inspiring place. It truly warms my heart.
